Pearl millet also known as Kambu in Tamil  is a miracle millet which has Iron that is 8 times of rice. It is very rich in Calcium, Protein, Iron, and Magnesium. It helps to reduce the bad cholesterol level in our body.

Millets are small-grained, annual, warm-weather cereals belonging to the grass family. They are highly tolerant of drought and other extreme weather conditions and have a similar nutrient content to other major cereals.

Kambu millet seeds are hard and firm with a slightly musty fragrance that some describe as mousy. They have a mild, nutty, and sweet flavor with some bitter and alkaline notes.

Kambu millet is one of the most widely grown varieties of millet and is usually turned into a flour and used in bread and porridges. It may also be found in whole-grain form, cooked like quinoa, does not contain gluten, and is considered a good alternative for those diagnosed with celiac disease.

Pearl millet is the must include food in the diet especially for diabetes peoples. Because this wholegrain millet is a rich source of carbohydrates and contains fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is one of the better whole grains for managing blood sugar levels.
